How Important is Fame?

Hey, friends!
Are you focusing on how many likes and followers you have? Do you want to be famous? Well let’s here from my friend Kayla and find out just how important fame is.

How important is fame?

Hello, sweet friends! I’m glad you’re here today – I’m excited to chat about fame and get a Godly perspective on it. ☺

In case you are all prepared with your hackles up and guns ready for me to say that no way, fame is terrible, awful, not Godly at all – just settle your little self down and chill a minute.  Continue reading “How Important is Fame?”

10 Things To Be GRATEFUL For

10 things to be grateful for All too often we go throughout our day without thinking of the little things we take for granted.

God blesses us with so many things we don’t even recognize them. The few times we do we even take them for granted at times. I am guilty of this, that is for sure.

To help myself (and hopefully you too, if you struggle with not acknowledging what God does for us) I have made this list of just 10 things that I can be grateful to my Heavenly Father for.

1) Family
It is super simple but so very important. God hand picked and made you specifically for your family. He chose your momma and daddy to be your parents and your siblings parents for specific reasons. Even though you might not agree with the punishments your parents give you or maybe you fight with your siblings (I do sometimes, sadly) each one of those moments was in God’s plan and He is going to use those moments for His glory.

How To Know If You Are Home

homeI have created a beautiful room. My walls are blue. Not just any blue, but the gorgeous blue the ocean waters look when it is the middle of the day, the skies are clear, and there is nothing in the water. All the sand has settled and there is only gorgeous blue water. I have pictures all over my room, reminding me of beautiful memories. Memories of family vacations, trips to Disney World, photo shoots, family portraits, and more. I have a lot of books. Some I have read and many I want to read. My entire wardrobe is in my room. Some clothes I love and wear a lot and those few t-shirts I will never wear again although I can not bring myself to donating them yet because I still have a hope of wearing them. My desk sits in a corner almost always cluttered with school books. My room would look to a stranger to be almost perfect. Some friends have called it relaxing, pretty, but there is something missing. I can not put my finger on it, but something is not right. It is my room, in my house, but yet I do not feel home. Why?

Do You Know The Reason For The Season?

happy easter

“If I tell you my story, you will find hope that wouldn’t let go. If I told you my story, you would hear love that never give up. If I told you my story, you would hear life but it wasn’t mine. If I should speak then let it be of the grace that is greater than all my sin, of when justice was served and where mercy wins, of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in. To tell you my story is to tell of Him. If I told you my story you would hear victory over the enemy. If I told you my story you would hear freedom that was won for me. If I told you my story you would hear life overcome the grave. If I should speak then let it be of the grace that is greater than all my sin, of when justice was served and where mercy wins, of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in. To tell you my story is to tell of Him. This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long.” ~Big Daddy Weave – My Story

This song is a great reminder that our story is not our own. Our story points back to the Author of our stories.

HOW TO Show You Care

how to show you careDo you care? Do you genuinely care for people? These two questions can be hard to answer. How about we take a quick quiz together to put things into perspective?

Answer the following 4 questions truthfully. (You could also type your answers into the comment section below, I would love to read them!)

  1. Do you give your time freely to others?
I try to give my time to as many people as I can, but I still occasionally get sucked into the social media world or “me” time that is necessary.
  2. Do you help those in need?
I love helping! Although there is always room for improvement. Sometimes my heart is not happy about helping when there are too many dishes in the sink and I am tired.
  3. What is your first reaction to a difficult situation?
If I am in an argument I tend to look out for myself instead of the other person. This does not show that I care. I need to improve on this.
  4. Do you get joy in helping others?
I do! But I could learn to get more joy in helping my parents and brothers out more. I tend to neglect their needs more than my friends.
When you show you genuinely care people can see Jesus in you. You can share Jesus by caring for others. Keep reading to learn 5 ways you can show you care. 🙂
1. ACTIONS
Your actions speak volumes about you. A person from across the room can get an idea of who you are by just watching how you act around others. Do your actions represent a caring person?
2. YOUR WORDS & HOW YOU SPEAK THEM
Your choice of words and how you speak them, says a lot about who you are too. If you say some inappropriate words then you will probably be given the connotation of a mean person who does not care.
3. WHAT YOU PARTICIPATE IN
If you are doing mission trips and attending youth group you will be categorized as a follower of Christ. But if you are attending concerts of secular music bands whose songs are not edifying to God, then you are not going to be recognized as a caring person.
4. HOW YOU PRESENT YOURSELF
Do you wear modest clothing? Do you choose to exemplify your natural beauty? If so then I would take you as a person who is sweet, gentle, and caring. If you do the opposite, then you will be taken as the opposite person.
5. HOW YOU SERVE OTHERS
Serving with a happy heart is how it should be done. If you do not have a happy heart when you are serving then you may want to reconsider yourself a caring person and pray about it.
Showing you care for others is a part of living for the Lord. In the book of Philippians Paul tells us that we should “not look[ing] to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4 ESV).
Comment below some ways you can show you care! Learning from each other is the best way to learn. 😉

How You Like To Be Described VS How You Are Described

descibedI am described as “possessing a well of adjectives including bubbly, cheerful, mischievous and Godly. Her beauty flows from within and spreads to the outside and those around her. Her love for God is rivaled only by her love do people… And Starbucks. Always happy to serve and always ready to help, she is a true blessing to all those lucky enough to know her. For such a short person she has a bug heart.” “Super bubbly and loves to talk. She’s great at including everyone and instantly befriends you. She’ll always do whatever she can to help and you can always go to her if you need someone to pray for you.” “She is a very relatable person. I’ve never seen her in a bad mood and she is flexible to keep everybody happy. I don’t know if that’s just how she is or if she is a people pleaser, but she always has a sunny disposition and she brightens everybody’s day.”

These are positive. There are also negative comments that describe me. “Short. Like super short. Like if she applied to the Willy Wonka factory, she would be denied for being too short. Starbucks addiction.” “She is a bit opinionated and like people to do what she thinks is best.” “She is so nice that she is a pushover and she might be taken advantage of in the future.”

I love being described positively. Who doesn’t?? Sometimes, though, what you want and what people think don’t always match up. Guess what? That is O K.

Sometimes what you want people to think and what people actually think don't always match up. Guess… Click To Tweet

Let me tell you a little secret. You will never please everyone and you shouldn’t. There will be people who just do not like you. Even if you are the most likable person EVER there will still be people who do not like you.

Running on hill http://barnimages.com/
Luke 4:8 ESV

We are not made to please people, though, we are made to please God and God only. We are told in Luke chapter 4, verse 8 by Jesus that, “it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.’” (ESV) We are told to serve Him only.

From now on, you no longer need to worry about what others think of you. You only need to worry about what God thinks of you. If you are willing, He will change you to be more like Him and you will become close to perfection (not in the eyes of imperfect people, in the eyes of the perfect God).

I want to challenge you to try really hard this week not to care about what others think about you and only care about what God thinks about you. Can you do this?

Tell me below what bothers you the most in regards to others opinions. I am most worried about my appearance.

I am praying for you.
